This Summer our CEO and Founder, Caroline Turner, was featured in Yorkshire Women’s Life Magazine where she wrote about her experiences an entrepreneur.

The magazine is built on inclusion and representation, providing a platform for new women writers to share their voices. Alongside showcasing new writing, it explores the issues that matter most to women, both in Yorkshire and across the world. Intelligent, thoughtful, and forward looking, Yorkshire Women’s Life is for women who want their stories to be seen and their experiences to be heard.

Yorkshire entrepreneurs are shaping the future of business across the region, driving innovation, growth, and community impact. From start-ups in Leeds and Sheffield to family-run businesses in York and Harrogate, Yorkshire entrepreneurs are known for their resilience, creativity, and strong sense of purpose. Many Yorkshire entrepreneurs are leading the way in sustainable business, digital innovation, and inclusive workplaces, while also celebrating the region’s proud heritage of hard work and enterprise. With support networks, events, and publications championing their success, Yorkshire entrepreneurs are building opportunities that inspire the next generation of business leaders across Yorkshire and beyond.

Caroline answered these questions:

What’s your advice for a successful business?

By all means, embrace the shoulder pads, but being vulnerable as a female leader takes bravery and strength. It took me years to believe this, but real leadership is about authenticity as much as it is about confidence.

What motivates you as an entrepreneur?

It is the creation of services and products that there is no playbook for, which keeps me stimulated. Building something new, something that does not yet exist, is both the challenge and the reward.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Your accent is beautiful; don’t change it. It is part of who you are and it carries your story.
