How we’re making our training even more accessible at Creased Puddle

A group of four people are sitting at a table, collaborating and writing in notebooks. They appear to be deep in discussion, with books and papers spread out in front of them. The scene is well-lit by natural light coming through a window with blinds. There are plants in the window sill, and a few personal items like a water bottle, pens, and notebooks are visible on the table. The individuals are focused on their work, with some resting their heads in thought while others are actively writing.

When it seems like the world is pushing back against more inclusion, we’re turning up the dial to make our training more accessible. We understand that budgets and time are tight, and you may be being told no to more initiatives to improve welfare and understanding in your workplace. We understand how frustrating that can feel and ultimately the impact it has on your wellbeing.

In the next few months you’re going to see our training evolve and become even more accessible across the board.

What’s changing?

Over the summer we held our first Neurodiversity Summer Camp and that was a huge success, we made training accessible and affordable to hundreds of people. We love supporting change organisation-wide and we’ve successfully delivered thousands of hours of training across the UK, the Summer Camp saw us include many individuals are wouldn’t ordinarily have been able to receive training.

The good news is that we’re making this more accessible as we had into the autumn as well, a few weeks ago we launched our Autumn Offers where you can now register for the most popular Summer Camp courses:

We have a couple of dates for each one over November and December which you can join. These sessions cost just £50 each plus VAT. So if you’re a small business, an individual or you’re just curious about the topic, these sessions are accessible and affordable for most.

Free webinars

We know that you find our free webinars really helpful and that’s why we have put on another one that is taking place on Wednesday this week. We’re going to be exploring why neurodivergent employees leave, because it’s a really important topic that is relevant right now. A lot of organisations are losing capable staff through not understanding how to support them, and understanding reasonable adjustments is key to changing that.

Webinar graphic titled "Beyond Recruitment: Why Your Neurodivergent Staff Leave" with Caroline Turner. Event date 24th September, 09:30–10:30. Includes Creased Puddle logo and a photo of Caroline Turner smiling in a green top against a leafy background.

We’ve changed the delivery of our Level 4 Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessor course

As much as we love our office in York, it’s quite far away from a lot of our customers and spending 5 days here wasn’t accessible to some of you. So we adapted and we’re offering a hybrid model of the course now, where you spend 3 days online and 2 days in York. We love seeing your faces and learning in person, as we spend most of our lives online. That’s important.

But this allows us to start to incorporate self-directed online learning into the learning workflow, where we’ve doubled down on our efforts to make the content accessible. Learners will be able to consume the content audibly, visually, in written format or a combination of both. This is what we teach others to do, so we’re setting the standard for what we expect from a learning opportunity.

Organisations are switching to creating their own support from within and looking for longer-term solutions to supporting staff, that’s why we believe so strongly in our Level 4 course.
