Course Outline - Level 4 Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessor

Since 2017 Creased Puddle have been conducting Workplace Needs Assessments across public, private and third sector organisations, providing workable solutions to support individuals in the workplace. In summer 2024, we decided to see if we could package this expertise into a solution for organisations so they could grow their own ‘in house’ resource. 8 months later we have received our accreditation and will be delivering this fully accredited Level 4 Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessment Training Course throughout 2025.   

Benefits to the organisation: 

• Reduces cost of depending on external suppliers providing Workplace Needs Assessments. 

• Assessors often have prior knowledge of individuals role which expedites the process and makes accommodations more relevant and applicable. 

• Assessors can suggest solutions which are compatible with their organisations IT infrastructure, which helps to manage the expectations of the individual. 

• Assessors can monitor progress, review accommodations, and suggest alternatives. 

• Professionally trained and accredited assessors reduce the risk of successful litigation through employment tribunals.  

The course has been designed so that organisations can grow their own Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessment Team for non-complicated cases. Individuals should be passionate about neurodiversity but no prior knowledge is required. 2025 courses will not recognise evidence of prior learning, however we will look as to how this could be built in later in the year. 

We expect that the learner will: 

• Develop their current understanding and knowledge of neurodiversity to include a multi-disciplinary approach which incorporates medical, social, and legal perspectives. 

• Find solutions which strike a balance between organisational limitations and the needs of the client. 

• Produce Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessments in a ‘written’ or another retrievable format for their organisation.   

• Be able to provide reasoning and explanation as to why an accommodation should be considered. 

The request for this course has come from our Policing clients and so we’ve promised them first dibs.  But don’t despair, our non-policing L4 Workplace Needs Assessment will be launched shortly. 

Well, this is where it really gets exciting. Your course will be delivered by leading professionals from the neurodiversity space including the team here at Creased Puddle. All lead trainers are fully qualified Level 3 (or higher) and many are L4 Workplace Needs Assessors.  Speakers and experts come from the ED&I world, National Support Staff Networks, Psychology backgrounds, and the Legal sector. We’d cry if we had to run a boring slide-deck-based course – so the speakers and trainers are brought in to bring the theory alive.

You will be provided with a workbook to work through, together with lesson plans so you know what to expect and built in ‘processing time’ to reflect. The course is built to strike the right balance between theory and practical application.

We expect that you will familiarise yourself with the course content, from your workbook, before you arrive. You will also be provided with further links, videos, and podcasts which will complement your learning throughout the week. 

The workbooks are built in a way which allows you to complete them in a handwritten or digital format, using any assistive technology you normally use.  

The course is built to provide you with information, yes, but also time for discussion and listening, reflection, and self-study ‘quiet time’. We aim to strike the right balance for everyone and as we develop our learning of the course experience, we will further develop its ability to be more inclusive.

This is a GREAT question. We’ve put our marvellous minds together to make sure that our assessment methods are as inclusive as possible and include: 

• Continuous classroom trainer notes from group and individual inputs

• Assessment of Workplace Needs Assessment in Module 5 

• Research  

• Questions / Answers 

• Professional Discussions  

• Environmental Assessment  

During the week you will have face to face access to your trainer for 121’s or to clarify your understanding as you require. Please discuss individual learning preferences prior to your attendance so we can ensure that your expectations are met. 

On the successful completion of all 5 days, you will be provided with your L4 Certificate.
