Carl joined Creased Puddle as a Neurodiversity Criminal Justice Consultant, Trainer and Coach, bringing with him 14 years of policing experience with the Metropolitan Police. He spent most of his career in plain clothes, proactively reducing county lines drug dealing before moving on to the Mounted Branch. Concluding his career, he supported and championed the strengths of neurodivergent police officers, particularly those new in service.
Carl is a Founder of the national ADHD Alliance which supports the emergency services and drive change within the criminal justice system.
He is incredibly passionate about delivering change by openly speaking about his personal experience.
Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 31, Carl now understands why the ‘thrill’ of chasing people around the streets of London made him think clearer and how his behaviours helped him to regulate his nervous system.
Since his diagnosis, Carl has played an instrumental role in bringing police forces together to collaborate. His long term aim is to stop the school-toprison pipeline through education of neurodiversity.
In 2024 Carl was recognised for his work, receiving a formal Police Commendation and was nominated for an Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality award for his work with the ADHD Alliance.
Carl is studying a two year ADHD coaching diploma and aims to start coaching mid 2024. He has a large amount of policing experience and has supported thousands of staff across the country with ADHD.
In his spare time, Carl raises money for charity by climbing mountains. Most recently, he trekked to Mount Everest Base Camp and plans to climb Kilimanjaro in late 2024.
